Welcome to Selfie, provided by Thinkboks, LLC (hereinafter “Selfie,” “we,” or “us”). Selfie is the next generation photo sharing experience. Selfie is an app that creates a community around sharing and discovering the ultimate form of self-expression: selfies. When you use Selfie, you acknowledge that your photos will be shared globally to all selfie users. We encourage you to exercise discretion and caution with respect to your photos and comments.
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains the information that Selfie collects from users of the Selfie mobile application and website (
www.thinkboks.com) (collectively the “Services”), how we use that information, and with whom we share it and your choices about the collection and use of your information.
By using our Services, you indicate to us that you have read and accept the Privacy Policy. If you do not accept this Privacy Policy or do not meet or comply with this Privacy Policy, then you shall not use the Services.
CHANGES TO PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy at any time, with or without advance notice, so please review it periodically. We may provide you additional forms of notice of modifications or updates as appropriate under the circumstances. Your continued use of the Services after any modification to this Privacy Policy will constitute your acceptance of such modifications.
Information we collect
When you use the Services, you may provide us with two main types of information: (1) personally identifiable information that you knowingly choose to disclose, which is collected on an individual basis, and (2) general user information that does not contain personally identifiable information, which is collected on an aggregate basis as you use the Services. In some cases, if you choose not to provide us with requested information, you may not be able to access all of the Services.
Personally Identifiable Information
Information you Provide. We may automatically collect and/or ask for certain personal information from you for the purpose of providing to you content and/or services that you request (e.g., name, contact information such as your email address, demographic information such as your location, age, contact list, gender and any other information, such as profile pictures, content and information you provide to us, including messages sent via chat). We may retain such information on file, so that we may send you the information that you request.
Information from Third Party Accounts. If you create an account using, or otherwise connect your account to your Facebook, Instagram and/or Twitter account (hereinafter “Third Party Account”), we will automatically collect information provided to us by your Third Party Account including without limitation, your name, birthday, geographic location, interests, phone number, profile picture, gender, networks, list of friends, username, and any information you made public on your Third Party Accounts. Your name and email address will be used to inform you regarding new services, releases, upcoming events and changes in this Privacy Policy.
Device Phone Book and Information Others Share. Selfie is a community around sharing, so we may collect information from your device’s phonebook and photos. It’s a way for us to connect you with your friends quickly; however, you have the ability to choose which contacts will be automatically imported to Selfie. Selfie may receive information about you that is received from other users, such as when your friends connect their address book to the Services, invite you to use the Services or post a photo of you. We may use information provided to us by combining it with other information we have collected about you.
Location Information. We collect your device location so that you can use our location-based services. Similarly to your phonebook and photos, you can choose not to use this service by changing the preferences one your device. Please remember if you change your preferences, you may no longer have access to certain features of the Services.
Non-Personally Identifiable Information We Collect
We automatically collect information about how you use the Services. For example, when you use Selfie, we automatically collect and store information about your mobile device and your activities, which include without limitation the following information:
1.Your mobile device's unique ID number;
2.Your mobile device's geographic location while the Services is actively running;
3.Technical information about your mobile device (such as type of device or operating system);
4.Your preferences and settings (time zone, language, privacy preferences, product preferences, etc.);
5.How long you used our Services and which services and features you used;
6.The name of the phone service carrier; and
7.Crash reports that occur on our Services.
Cookies and web logs: Like most websites and mobile applications, we use cookies and web log files to track website usage and trends, to improve the quality of our service and to customize your experience. A “Cookie” is a tiny data file that resides on your computer, mobile phone, or other device, and allows us to recognize you as a user when you return to our Services using the same computer and web browser. Information gathered through Cookies may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, and time spent on accessing and/or using the Services. You can remove or block Cookies using the settings in your browser, but in some cases that may impact your ability to use the Services

Aggregate: We may collect non-identifying and statistical information about the use of the Services, such as how many visitors visit a specific page, how long they stay on that page and which links, if any, they click on. This information represents a generic overview of our users, including their collective habits. Information collected in the aggregate is not associated with you as an individual. We may share user information in the aggregate with third parties, such as advertisers and content distributors.Third Party Services: We may supplement information you provide to us with information from other sources, such as information to validate or update your address or demographic information. This information is used to maintain the accuracy of information on our Services and for internal analysis.
Other Tracking Technologies:
To support the Services we provide to you, we may use services hosted by third parties. These services may collect information sent by a browser as part of a web page request, including Internet Protocol (“
IP”) addresses, browser software, and/or clickstream patterns. If these third party services collect information, they do so anonymously without identifying individual visitors. However, we may link the information we record using tracking technology to personal information we collect.
How we use information
Personal Information
We use your personal information to provide and improve our Services, may award loyalty points to you, make special offers, customize services for you, better understand our users, and diagnose and fix problems.In some cases, we use your personal information to contact you about our products, features and services including helping you connect to your friends, and inviting your friends to use our Services. If you no longer wish to receive information from us, you may send us an email to change your preferences. We will not share your personally identifiable information in ways unrelated to those described in this Privacy Policy without providing you with an opportunity to opt out of such use or otherwise prohibit such unrelated use.
Public Forum. You should be aware that if you disclose or submit any information including personally identifiable information, photos and comments on openly visible parts of the Service and other publicly viewable information, then such information may be collected and used by third parties without Selfie’s knowledge. Remember that any information disclosed in this way becomes public information and may result in unsolicited messages from such third parties. You should exercise great care when deciding to disclose any information in a public forum.
Non-Identifying Information
The information collected through the Services in the aggregate enables us to better understand your use of the Services and to enhance your enjoyment. For example, we may use the information to improve the design and content of the Services and/or to analyze the features, products and services that we offer. You acknowledge and agree that we may publicly disclose aggregated information about our users, such as the total number of our users and their overall demographics.
Parties with whom we may share your information
We may share your personally identifiable information as well as information from tools like cookies, log files, and device identifiers and location data (such as usage data, referring/exit pages and URLs, platform types, number of clicks, etc.), with employees, contractors, agents and organizations that help us provide the Services to you ("Service Providers"). Our Service Providers will be given access to your information as is reasonably necessary to provide the Services and are subject to contractual confidentiality obligations and may be disciplined and/or terminated if they fail to meet these obligations. We may remove parts of data that can identify you and share anonymous data with other parties and/or the community as a whole. We may also combine your information with other information in a way that it is no longer associated with you as an individual and share that aggregated information. What information we make available to other companies depends on the nature of our relationship with them.
Analytics Companies: We allow analytics companies to use tracking technologies to collect information about our users' computers and/or mobile devices and their online activities. These companies analyze this information to help us understand how our Services are being used. Analytics companies may use mobile device IDs as described in the paragraph below (“Mobile device IDs”).
Mobile device IDs: In order to recognize you, store your preferences, and track your use of our application, we may store your Mobile Device IDs (the unique identifier assigned to a device by the manufacturer) when you use the Services. Unlike cookies, Mobile Device IDs cannot be deleted.
Legal Disclosure
Selfie may disclose any information provided and/or aggregated in the following circumstances: (i) to investigate and defend Selfie members against any third party claims or allegations or otherwise to protect Selfie from liability, (ii) to investigate, prevent or take action regarding suspected or actual illegal activities, (iii) to assist government enforcement agencies, respond to a legal process or comply with the law, (iv) to exercise or protect the rights, property or personal safety of the users of the Services and/or (v) to protect the security or integrity of the Services.
What happens in the event of a change of control
If we sell or otherwise transfer part or the whole of Selfie or our assets to another organization (e.g., in the course of a transaction like a merger, acquisition, bankruptcy, dissolution, liquidation), your information such as name and email address, user content and any other information collected through the Services may be among the items sold or transferred.
YOUR INFORMATION CHOICES
We respect your privacy and give you an opportunity to opt out of receiving announcements of certain information. If you visit our Services and volunteer personally identifiable information, you can opt out of receiving, reviewing, modifying, updating, or deleting such information by contacting
developer@thinkboks.com. Please be aware that even after your request for a change is processed, Selfie
may, for a time, retain residual information about you in its backup and/or archival copies of its database.
SERVICE ELIGIBILITY
Children and Minors. Selfie does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of thirteen (13). Children are not eligible to use the Service and we ask that minors (under the age of eighteen (18)) do not submit any personal information to us or use the Service. If we find that information has been submitted to us in violation of our Privacy Policy, we will delete such information.
California Residents. If you are a California resident, under California Civil Code Section 1798.83, allows you have the right to receive: (a) information identifying any third party companies to whom Selfie may have disclosed personal information to for direct marketing, within the past year; and (b) a description of the categories of personal information disclosed. To obtain such information, please email your request to
developer@thinkboks.com and we will provide a list of categories of personal information disclosed within thirty (30) days of receiving such a request. This request may be made no more than once per calendar year. We reserve the right not to respond to requests submitted in ways other than those specified above.
SECURITY
We work hard to secure your personal information from unauthorized access to or unauthorized alteration, disclosure or destruction of information we hold. We review our information collection, storage and processing practices, including physical security measures, to guard against unauthorized access to systems. However, since the Internet is not a secure environment, Selfie cannot warrant the security of any information you transmit to us or guarantee that information on the Services may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical or managerial safeguards. Please do your part to help us. You are responsible for maintaining the secrecy of your unique password and account information, and for controlling access to emails between you and Selfie, at all times. We are not responsible for the functionality, privacy, or security measures of any other organization.
OTHER WEB SITES AND SERVICES
We are not responsible for the practices employed by any websites or services linked to or from our Services, including the information or content contained within them. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our Services to another website or service, our Privacy Policy does not apply to those third-party websites or services. Your browsing and interaction on any third-party website or service, including those that have a link on the Services, are subject to such third party's own rules and policies. In addition, you agree that we are not responsible and do not have control over any third-parties that you authorize to access your information. If you are using a third-party website and/or service and you allow access your information, you do so at your own risk.
Information from users outside the United States
Please be aware that if you’re outside the United States, your information will be sent to and stored in the United States, where our servers are located. We may transfer your information and process it in the United States. By using Selfie, you agree to the information collection, use, and sharing practices described in this Privacy Policy and understand that the laws of the United States may differ from those of other countries and may not be as protective as the laws in the country where you reside.
